Keep It Moving….Stop the Static if you Can

Keep it moving right? yes sir! we have to keep it moving stop stopping and allow time to change. We cannot stop time from changing anyway, and why would we want it to anyway? This 1961 Statement by Jean Tinguely on Static and Movement was pretty interesting. Tinguely touched on a pretty deep subject and as much as I want to stop sometimes I realize that it is not an option at all. Stagnation is completely out of the question. Life changes no matter if we want it to or not people die no matter if we want them to or not and what’s interesting is that decomposition only exists if you don’t accept the change that’s already going on. It’s even going on as you think about it. It’s energetic it’s statically involved with you, your brother, your sister, your employer, your pupil ,and anyone around you. It cannot be stopped. Three of my sons and I went for a long (much and needed) walk the other day and ran into a friend of my sons and his father, the father and i were discussing movement ironically and it came up in the conversation that we cannot give up. We must teach our children the same. I say that because it all fits together, time stops for no one and as soon as we completely grasp that our minds will be able to explore and be more free to accept change and everything that comes with it. When we look at death we see a loved one passing away and we experience pain and sorrow and at times disappointment and depression. What we don’t realize is time is moving and these things not only must happen but it’s going to happen to us too. JUST GO WITH IT! nothing should hold us back. When I think of impressionism or should I say that the first thing I thought about when I read the part that said “immobile objects are snapshots of a movement whose existence we refuse to accept, because we ourselves are only an instant in the great movement” was impressionism. The reason why is because as we move about our “regular routine,” we are refusing to acknowledge the existence of these “immobile objects” that we pass everyday. The same as attempting to capture the fleeting moment as the impressionists attempted to do. Static movement, plus static motion, minus stagnation equals inevitably keeping it moving and grooving.
