Drawing I

Course Overview:
Drawing I is an introduction to the basic tools, techniques, and fundamentals of drawing. Emphasis is placed on direct observational techniques, basic pictorial composition, and the materials and techniques of drawing that facilitate drawing accuracy.

The scope of the course includes an exploration of the Elements of Design and the Organizing Principles of Design as they are applied to the two-dimensional act of mark making.

As we progress through the course, I will go over each assignment at the beginning of class. Should you ever need to go back over the assignment or you wish to print it out and keep it in your sketchbook, use the links under the Assignments heading.

We will have some readings and responses throughout the semester, these will also be placed on the page marked Readings.
