Sculpture I

Course Overview:
Sculpture 1 is an introductory course into the three-dimensional world of visual arts. Students will be introduced to mold making, casting, carving, and fabricating through the use of various materials. Some of these materials will include clay, plaster, plastic, metal and found objects. Students will also learn about the various periods of history, styles and media that encompass sculptural practices.
Students will explore traditional methods of sculpture such as carving, as well as new and innovative ways of working such as installation art and ephemeral (temporary) art.

As we progress through the course, I will go over each assignment at the beginning of class. Should you ever need to go back over the assignment or you wish to print it out and keep it in your sketchbook, use the links under the Assignments heading.

We will have some readings and responses throughout the semester, these will also be placed on the page marked Readings.
