Preparing to Transfer
Students enrolled in the General Transfer Path with an emphasis in Studio art are part of a new program called the UTP (Universal Transfer Path). This means that students who take the required courses will be able to transfer all of those courses to another UTP participating school. Information about the UTP for Studio Art can be found here. A UTP worksheet that lays out the courses needed can be found here. Students who wish to transfer to schools that are not part of the UTP should speak with an advisor before registration. (* It is the responsibility of the student to make sure all courses taken while at Cleveland State will transfer to their 4 year institution.)

Required Courses
A detailed list of required courses Art Studio degree can be found here. In addition to the required courses, it is highly suggested that students also enroll in the 1 credit hour Portfolio Prep course. This course is designed to help to the transferring student organize materials for a successful transfer application. Students who intend on or are interested in Art History might also consider the 1 credit hour course Art Theory and Criticism.

Opportunities
Students who are enrolled in a studio are course during the Fall semester and active in the Student Art League are eligible to attend the annual New York City spring break art trip. For one week we visit numerous art museums and galleries for a one of a kind arts experience.  Cost is kept to a minimum through numerous fundraisers throughout the year.  More information about the trip can be found here.
