Judy Pfaff

Judy Pfaff, born 1946 in London, England, is a very diverse artist with many different strengths. Not only does she produce sculptures, but she also experiments in printmaking, collage, and drawing (often combining all of these). Her work is usually full of vibrant colors (sometimes black and white like her 2006 installation, Buckets of Rain)  and found objects such as cardboard and paper lanterns. Because she is primarily a sculptor, even her drawings and prints have some sort of 3D element to them. Because of her unique style, her work is always recognizable and stands out.

Personally, Pfaff’s work inspires me a lot more than other artists I have seen because I see many similarities in my work. Before Mark told me to look her up, I had not seen any of her work before, but as soon as I researched her I could tell why he recommended her to me.
