Judith Braun

Judith Braun grew up loving art and stared painting at a very young age. She said she found that she had more faith in her art then she did in angels.

She married her first husband and was pregnant with her first and only child. She ran away from her husband because she was abusing her while being pregnant. In 1978 she met a new man and they married. He sent her back to grad school and he built her a new art studio.

I988 is the year she had her first art show that put her on the map with her works called “pussy pieces.”

In 1990 she had a solo show called “read my pussy.”

She closed she art studio from 1995-2003 because she got divorced and her daughter was in college. She decided there was nothing in the world she wanted to do other than art so she rented out her house, got a hot plate, moved into her studio, and locked the door. During this time she made 3 rules for herself.

She only did a few portraits of herself and others. She is best known for her finger works.

these are both done of herself.

When she does her finger drawings she only uses Charcoal, graphite, and her fingers.
