Artist Presentations

Artist presentations will be scheduled throughout the semester and are meant to get you researching. There is so much good art being made today that we need to look at each other’s work.

You are allowed to choose any artist from the Research section below. Make sure that the artist you choose works in the media in which you are enrolled (2D artist for 2D Design, 3D artist for 3D, etc) and that they have made work within the last 50 years. They must be be from one of the websites below.

Artist presentations consist of two parts:

  1. Create a Google Slides Presentation entry that is at least 250 words in length and uses 7 high quality images. Presentations should be well researched, use correct spelling / grammar and cite appropriate sources. Do not plagiarize. That is an automatic 0.
  2. Once your presentation is completed, you will present your artist to the class. This assignment is not only about getting you to research contemporary artists but also an exercise in presentation. So much of making art is how we present it to the public.
  3. Although your Google Slides Presentation should be pretty bland for your major assignments and projects, you do have some creative freedom with the artist presentation to make it more visually appealing.
