Untitled (Wax Mark)

untitled (Wax Mark) was created at the same time as Solid Gold!, but the experimentation in this piece is the direction I have been steadily progressing towards. The work asks the viewer to question the ethical standards to which we hold artists and galleries, and if these standards should even exist in a world where imagination and creativity are free to roam. Everything in the work is not as it appears, and some parts are completely fabricated, both in material and in context. None of this is stated in any press releases or such, but the viewer is given all the information as if it is indeed fact.

The work consists of 4 large documentary photographs, 3’ by 8’ and 32” by 40”, the remains of the destroyed sculpture, the rodent chewed cord, and the letter of apology.
