20 ties created using logos from the top 20 banks bailed out during the 2007 – 2009 Recession. The data on the top 20 was gathered from CNN Money’s list of bailed out banks. The logo for each bank was imported into Illustrator and used to create repeating patterns. Some logos are still obvious as to the corporation they belong too while others have been completely rearranged to create a more visually interesting pattern. The patterns were custom printed on a polyester silk and then hand sewn to create the ties. The ties were photographed with a white collared shirt and presidential blue blazer. The accompanying American flag pin makes apparent governmental involvement within the private sector.
